Diplomacy by Tim Carlson

This was the world premiere production. The play is published by Talon Books.

Diplomacy delves into the heart of the most fractious debate facing the country: Are we a nation of peacekeepers or a nation of warriors? Is there a middle ground? International politics infuse the personal politics between four Canadians whose lives were defined by the Vietnam War and now struggle to position themselves in the present.

Critical Response

In a handsome production by Western Theatre Conspiracy, Diplomacy unfolds as a nuanced back-and-forth debate about Canada’s military role in Afghanistan.

A well-argued blast of political outrage.
